Resources for using Connecting Representations


Watch a pair of high school mathematics teachers, Harris and Maria, enact Connecting Representations with their 9th grade students. You can watch a longer version of this video here.

Resources for this task, Visualizing Distribution, are available on the Fostering Math Practices website (free registration required).

The instructional routine Connecting Representations was developed by Amy Lucenta and Grace Kelemanik of Fostering Math Practices; with their support we have developed resources so that teachers can use this routine in their classrooms.

Connecting Representations has these five main parts:
