TYWLS Bronx Social Studies teacher Michelle Nguyen noticed her students were not making inferences or making connections in their written annotations. Michelle decided to use React Aloud to model the different ways one can think critically while reading any text. React Aloud uses a combination of a teacher reading and thinking out aloud, a student reading and thinking out loud and then students reading silently on their own.
