5E Instructional Model Plan:

Atmosphere and Weather Variables 3E Instructional Model Plan

Plan for teaching about atmosphere and movement of air using the 5E Instructional Model as a framework

8-10 days

Students learn how pressure and temperature change at different altitudes of the atmosphere by analyzing secondary data and connecting it to particle diagrams of air at different altitudes. Students then refine their understanding of pressure and temperature at different altitudes by watching videos that explain these concepts, and extend their thinking by considering why it tends to snow at high altitudes despite the fact there is less moisture.
