CHAH ENL teacher Leah Werner-Evans was aware that her students had seen graphic media images of police brutality against Black men and women in America. "I really wanted to give my students a space to share and reflect in a way that was student-centered instead of teacher-led. I think that is what is most important right now. The React routine that's adopted for online learning, where I have them type their ideas in the chat box, really helps them listen to one another in a way that doesn't happen with think-pair-share. I just wanted them to be able to talk about what's going on in a safe space without too much input from me."
