With all the different layers and ideas that are packed in one lesson, it's important to give students a chance to pause, review and reflect on what new information is important to them. TYWLS Harlem ELA teacher Emily Wylie wanted to ensure her students had time to read through peer ideas before identifying what their own takeaways were for the lesson. Remember micro-routine can be a quick way for students to decide the big ideas from a lesson. Watch Emily provide a moment for her students to think about the details from a scene in Macbeth that are important for them to remember.  Recognize and celebrate individuals to show their ideas are valuable and encourage them to continue their contributions to the discussion.
