To target engagement in remote and non-remote settings, using American Sign Language with vocabulary is a unique experience. In our summer virtual workshop, educators had the chance to experience the SIGN micro-routine which combines verbally repeating the word with the physical signing of that word. In addition, the students can be taught to use this strategy on their own as an independent study habit.
