2021-2022 Teacher Planning Guide Slides
This is a cross content teacher planning guide inspired by Student-Centered Learning and Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) & The Brain. The contents rely on brain science to center student voice & experiences, so that teachers may communicate that student knowledge is a valued asset.
The Facilitation Menus contain instructional materials and templates to ensure there is joy, movement and an excited buzz in classrooms. These considerations will build community and ease transition from remote learning, in which students self-managed their time amidst a very stressful backdrop. That will open up opportunities for Curiosity & Cognition, growth and healing through and with schools - all of which we can ground in deep, meaningful learning.
The section of Leveraging Reading & Mistakes walks through the facilitation of learning and processing info in chunks. We conclude with our favorite Formative Assessment tools, such as how to hold Feedforward conversations and how to design fun surveys to further connect students to content and cognitive growth.
