Micro-Routines are short peer interactions that are designed for information synthesis. They are no more than three steps, or six minutes long, and may be used across content areas. They are organized into the following six suggested categories, based on the type of cognitive skills that students may grow, over time. However, Micro-Routines may be plugged in, and combined, in many different ways, for various purposes. For more inspiration, check out our blog, where we feature teachers that have been using Micro-Routines in their classrooms.
