Thought Bubbles

A group brainstorming process that helps students extract evidence, organize new ideas in order to make conclusions.

Concerned about shallow analysis? Want students to find their own responses without prompts, fill in the blanks, or too many scaffolded questions?

In this routine, students brainstorm opinions or strategies, then follow them through with predictions and realizations about a text or question.

While this routine is more difficult, it instills students with a useful approach to questions that are hard to understand, at first.
