Examining artwork can be an entry point for teachers and students to discuss ideas and emotions about the Black Lives Matter movement. Students need safe spaces to unpack what is happening around them in order to make sense of the world.

As a part of her 3 week long unit, CHAH ENL teacher Leah Werner-Evans implemented Look micro-routine to examine the details of 2 different images. Leah wanted her students to identify details from the art and explain what the details meant to them in the context of current protests.
