Individual Access Strategies
The Individual Access Strategies is a searchable compilation of instructional, material and environmental strategies that can create curricular access for individual students. It also provides suggested testing accommodations. The tool adapts resources from the Pre-referral Intervention Manual - 3rd Edition, the guidance document developed by the NYS Education Department's Specifically Designed Instruction working group and Beech's "Accommodations: Assisting Students with Disabilities - A Guide for Educators". This tool is best used in conjunction with universally accessible units and lessons.
This resource is part of the Accessible Planning and Instruction project at New Visions for Public Schools. Click on the white boxes to filter the list by either characteristics of the learner or by strategy type.
